Lead the systems level design and analysis for electronically steered antenna arrays for land vehicle applications, specify systems requirements and manage design compliance throughout the engineering development lifecycle.
Location: London
Technical responsibilities
- Work with the Project Engineering Manager, to develop existing system architecture designs and derive new designs to meet future product requirements.
- Deliver system level modelling and analysis to predict performance to system requirement specifications, on your own and through leadership of others.
- Capture product requirements working with Business Development Team. Understand the customer needs to support design decisions and interpret the impact of customer requirements on system level specifications.
- Own system level requirement specifications, working with the wider engineering team to capture and derive the requirements flow-down from product level to engineering functions, including mechanical, hardware and software.
- Identify and interpret safety, mechanical, thermal, environmental, EMC/EMI and other applicable standards to provide flow down of requirements to the engineering functions.
- Produce documentation, specifications and reports to an excellent standard to support quality assurance.
- Characterise, analyse and provide insight on system performance for key RF, software, mechanical and digital parameters.
- Specify verification approach and ensure compliance with requirements at module and system level.
- Lead customer engineering liaison and delivery of customer design activities, managing possible risks and opportunities when required.
- Support the wider technical deliverables required for product development, such as lifecycle management, methods development, peer reviews, procurement support and lab testing
Organisational responsibilities
- Provide engineering development lifecycle process leadership and mentoring to the wider engineering team.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements associated with the product development lifecycle. Author and maintain processes as required.
- Work with the engineering teams across multiple disciplines to integrate technology requirements into the systems, software, electrical and RF design.
- Take responsibility for multi-disciplinary engineering projects and delivery to tight timescales, communicating through plans, presentations and written reports.
- Management of small engineering teams and subcontractors for design, analysis, testing and manufacturing.
- The role will be primarily based at the company’s London office.
