2024 Mid-Year Review: Hanwha Phasor’s Major Milestones

As the first half of 2024 draws to a close, we at Hanwha Phasor are proud to reflect on the significant milestones and strategic advancements we’ve achieved. Our commitment to innovation and excellence in satellite communications has driven us to new heights, and we’re excited to share these developments with you.

One of our most notable achievements this year has been the launch of our user terminal, the Phasor L3300B, an active electronically steered antenna (AESA).

BOOSTING MOBILE LAND-BASED CONNECTIVITY

Offering exceptional performance and reliability, this is a game-changer for mobile land-based connectivity. The low-profile design, weighing only 30kg with a 150mm thickness, makes the Phasor L3300B antenna an ideal option of choice for Armed Forces personnel and first responders operating in contested and high-intensity environments.

Phasor L3300B empowers seamless connectivity by harnessing the power of two simultaneous receive channels that enables it to form connections with new satellites before breaking its current connection. It operates in Ku-Band and is constellation agnostic capable of connecting to both GEO and LEO satellites.

EXPANSION TO THE UNITED STATES

In our quest to better serve our North American customers, we have expanded our operations to the United States. This strategic move allows us to provide enhanced local support and foster stronger business development.

By strengthening our presence in the U.S., we are better positioned to offer tailored solutions and engage more closely with our customers, marking a significant milestone in our expansion strategy.

PARTNERSHIPS WITH LUFTHANSA TECHNIK

We forged a partnership with Lufthansa Technik to collaborate on advanced in-flight connectivity solutions, integrating our cutting-edge antenna technology with Lufthansa Technik’s aviation expertise.

A multi-year agreement will see Lufthansa Technik design, build and supply several hundred fuselage-mounted airborne Satellite Communications (SatCom) radomes for Hanwha Phasor each year.

Building on this foundation, we have further strengthened our ties by working together on pursuing EASA and FAA certifications, ensuring our Phasor A7700 active electronically steered antenna meet the highest standards required for commercial aviation.

Our partnership with Lufthansa Technik allows us to cross the final hurdle before releasing the Phasor A7700 to the market.

STRATEGIC COLLABORATION WITH KONTRON

Another key highlight of the first half of 2024 is our new strategic partnership with Kontron. Through this collaboration, Kontron will design and develop a KPSU (Ku/Ka-band Power Supply Unit), compatible with ARINC 792, to Phasor A7700.

This is a vital step for the Phasor A7700 which is expected to come to market in late 2025. With the KPSU development underway, it allows Hanwha Phasor to continue into the final airworthiness accreditation with authorities in the EU and US.

Following the Satellite Conference & Exhibition in March, SOF Week, and Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in May, we are looking forward to attending the Farnborough International Airshow, which takes place between 22 and 26 July.

You can schedule a meeting in advance to learn more. We look forward to discussing how our solutions can empower seamless connectivity for your mobile satellite communications.
