Project Manager

The project manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed timely and within budget. The project manager plans and designates project resources, prepares budgets, monitors progress, and keeps stakeholders informed. This is all done within a company’s goals and vision.

The project manager leads projects by identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation, and coordinates internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.

This role analyses project status and, when necessary, revises the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure those project requirements can be met, and establishes and maintains relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.

Technical responsibilities

  • Lead product delivery projects ensuring cost and schedule targets are achieved
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Estimate the resources, with inputs from key stakeholders, needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare a budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work breakdown structure
  • Provide project updates consistently to various stakeholders, including the VP of programme management, about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Monitors progress against schedule and manage/resolve critical schedule issues and risks

Essential qualifications and skills

  • Engineering degree qualified or equivalent
  • 5-8 years of project management and related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful

Desirable

  • Good understanding of Satcom environment
  • Fundamental understanding of ESAs or adjacent technology
  • Understanding of financial management and impacts on programmes.
  • Commercial awareness
