Lead the system antenna test development activities to deliver product features, improve development methods, support product qualification and develop production test capability.

Technical responsibilities
- Understand the customer needs to support design decisions and interpret the impact of customer requirements on system level specifications.
- Support customer engineering liaison and customer deliverables, alerting the team to possible risks and opportunities.
- Lead and perform systems integration testing to develop the technology as a commercial product.
- Lead the improvement of testing and analysis methods.
- Lead the field testing of antenna systems for internal engineering activities and customer demonstration activities.
- Drive the verification of system requirements through demonstration, analysis and testing.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring in areas of specialist expertise.
- Assist the engineering team to design the system architecture, functionality and requirements.
- Support technical deliverables required for product development, such as lifecycle management, methods development, peer reviews, procurement support and qualification testing
- Phased Array Antenna system control and test activities.
- Test script software and data analysis.
- Antenna test ranges (indoor anechoic or outdoor farfield).
Organisational responsibilities
- Work with the engineering teams across multiple disciplines to integrate technology requirements into the systems, software, electrical and RF design.
- Take responsibility for multi-disciplinary engineering projects and delivery to tight timescales, communicating through plans, presentations and written reports.
- Management of small engineering teams and subcontractors for design, analysis, and testing.
- Identify and agree the required support from the facilities manager for the testing infrastructure that will meet the business’ changing needs.
- The role will be primarily based at the company’s London office, but periodic travel to an offsite testing facility in Essex will be required.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements associated with the product development lifecycle. Author and maintain processes as required.
Essential qualifications and skills
- A good first or Upper 2nd Class degree (BEng/MEng) in Engineering or equivalent work-based qualifications.
- 4-6+ years in systems, RF or antenna product design
- Experience of systems integration of RF products, with integration of equipment for development testing.
- Competent practical experience in the use of test equipment such as scopes, spectrum analysers, vector network analysers, signal generators, power meters.
- Experience in leading small teams.
- Experience in Python.
Desirable
- Postgraduate Engineering Degree or Undergraduate Engineering Masters Degree
- Experience working with Ku and Ka band frequencies
- Antenna system integration and testing.
- Experience of electro-mechanical systems such as positioners and their control.
- Product development of Avionics / knowledge of the airborne environment.
- Experience of formal Certification testing.
- Experience in Matlab.
