Because of the expansion and development of terrestrial wireless services in many parts of the developed and developing world, mobile broadband via satellite for land-mobile use has often been overlooked. These markets can include freight and passenger rail, commuter and long-haul bus, and interstate trucking, and range in application from internet access to telematics. In regions with well-developed terrestrial wireless, congestion and over-subscription often drive service levels down. In underdeveloped regions, SATCOM on the move is the only alternative for mobile connectivity.
In both cases, an inconspicuous (very low profile), high gain, broadband access technology is needed. Phasor’s technology can be adapted to any terrestrial land-mobile use-case, and as network service providers in these markets know, can easily work in complement with terrestrial networks, where avaliable.
